Amber, the cookies I made were from a box mix, so I don't have an actual recipe for them. :/ I just googled chocolate crackle cookie recipe, and found a few that might be worth trying.

Survived 2 days of classes! whoo! ;)
Monday I had English 1010- intro to writing, ASL 1, and Institute- BofM. They are all probably under 40 students, so that's nice!
Today I had Biology 1010, Human Development Across the Lifespan, and Ballroom Dance.  The institute gave us all free T-shirts and they call each Tuesday T-shirt Tuesday, so tons of the institute students are wearing them. It's kinda cool to see.

My English teacher is nice so far, I think she is a student working on her masters or something like that. I'm not sure how this class is going to go because I can't -in any sense of the idea- write creatively... I can write good essays where I have to prove or disprove a point, answer a question, or inform about a topic, but when it comes to creative writing, I've got nothing...

I miss my high school ASL class and teacher sooooo much! My teacher here is nice, but I'm in ASL 1 so the class is super simple since I already took two years of ASL in HS.. I talked to one of the ASL advisers before the school year started to see if I could get into a higher level class, but he said they like all their students to start off with ASL 1 for some reason. bummer. Our homework assignment is to be able to fingerspell our name by tomorrow... I've been able to fingerspell my name since elementary school.... ugh.

Institute was pretty good. My teacher gets off topic soo fast though... I doubt we'll ever finish a lesson.. haha. It's really strange being in a class with RMs and people who have kids almost as old as I am... It's weird because they all have so many more experiences than I do, and they know so much more about the scriptures and everything. I liked seminary better where everyone is in a closer range of ages, and we can relate to each other a lot easier.

Biology was dumb. There's probably between 300 and 400 students, which stinks. I decided I don't like lecture classes. It was super boring, and I'm not looking forward to spending the whole semester in it. :( I wish my HS Bio teacher could teach at USU too... Then the class would be awesome!

Human Development Across the LS (FCHD) was okay I guess. It's also a lecture hall kind of class- which I do not like at all.. At least the subject and the teacher are more interesting than in biology, so it's not quite as bad as that.

I am excited for Ballroom Dance, I love dancing, and everyone in the class seems pretty fun so far. :)

So there's the low down of my classes... ha. Hope I didn't bore you too badly.

Hello

such a simple word, but it can mean so much.

So I decided only having one roommate reallly stinks. Everyone is always hanging out with their 4-6 roommates, and most people aren't super willing to let you join their group to hangout with.

Church was good today, my bishop is really fun.
        The best quote of the day came from when Bishop Cannon was conducting. He couldn't remember the name of the opening hymn. "...And we will be singing hymn 136, which is... *pause* ...in the hymn book!" haha got a good laugh from all of us:)

We had ward prayer in the lounge right beneath my building :) It was super crowded, stuffy and hot, but it's always cool to have a kneeling prayer with that big of a group.

The guys in E3 had Sunday Sundaes today and everyone was invited to go. They had waffle bowls, ice cream, and caramel & chocolate syrup! yummm.

I start classes tomorrow! So excited!!

A couple days ago I helped my best friend, Katherine, move into her apartment on campus. It was fun to get to spend time with her and her mom. After she was almost all moved in, her mom took us to the Bluebird for dinner!! It was fabulous! They have cream sodas to die for!!! I wish I could have stayed and explored the building, you could see that it was at least 3 floors high, and it looked so neat! I have a fascination with old buildings.. I guess it's the history nerd in me, but I love them! :)

My friend Britni and her three older brothers are all going to USU too! Her oldest brother has been here one year already, but the twins just got off their missions this summer, so they're just starting as freshmen with Brit! Yesterday morning her oldest brother, Ricky, took us all on a quick tour of campus so we'll (hopefully) be able to find all our classes without getting lost on Monday... :) 

When Heidi and Luke came up to visit they brought up a projector for us to use for movies! Last night we taped a white tablecloth up to the outside of our apartment and took the projector out to watch a movie! There were probably around 20 random people out there that came to watch with us! Unfortunately whoever picked the movie picked Dumb and Dumber, and that movie definitely speaks for itself. Katherine and I watched about 5 minutes of it, but it was so stupid so we went inside and made cookies instead! :)

 

One of my previous YW presidents gave me this HUGE box of cookie mix and a card for when I came up here! I'd never made cookies like this before, but they turned out really yummmmmy! 

Today Katherine and I played Hokie 6! We haven't played it together in so long, it was so much fun! 

I met my bishop yesterday, he was going around to meet all the people who've just moved in. He seemed nice so that's good.  He brought us an ensign and a magnet with the ward schedule and the bishopric's numbers. Unfortunately I have 1:30 church! That's so stinkin' late, you're whole day's practically over by the time you get out! :/

Oh and today we took pictures in the lounge for the ward directory. :)

There was an institute opening social tonight, but it was at the ice rink, and I didn't know anyone that was planning on going that I could ride with, and I don't know the bus system good enough yet to get me there, so instead, Kath and I went to Old Main hill and blew bubbles and took pictures... haha.

Logan

I moved up to Logan Monday! I live in Old Farm, and I only have one roommate. She's awesome! Her name is Lyndsay Tillitson, and she's from Mackay, Idaho.

My apartment is really cute, and I'll post pictures sometime :) Mom and Dad helped me move up, then Heidi, Luke and the kids came to visit yesterday! Thanks everyone! Last night Lyndsay's friend Joe and a couple other guys invited us to go over to their apartment to make s'mores! They had bought a little BBQ grill and we re-shaped wire clothes hangers to make roasters. Instead of just using a plain hersey's bar, we used symphony bars -sooo much better! :) It was really fun! Tons of people that I graduated with are coming to USU for school! I just counted and there's at least 15 of us here from my high school graduating class!

Here's a little of what's been going on in my life recently. :)

1~I went to my senior prom with a friend, Collin Anderson. It was a blast!

My amazing mother made my dress! Thanks mom I LOVE it!

2~I Graduated High School!! whooooooot!

Last time I got to sing with my Choir that I've been with for 2 years.

3~I'm officially part of Relief Society now... and I'm already a visiting teacher, and guess who my partner is?? The Relief Society President. hmmm..

4~I went to Girl's Camp as a youth leader, I'm going to miss the young women in my ward, but it's definetly time to move on.

5~I registered for college and signed up for all of my classes! I'm taking English 1010, Biology 1010, Comd 2910 (ASL 1), FCHD 1500, and Ballroom Dance. I am super excited!

6~I found out that I passed my AP Statistics test with a 4!!! YAYAYAY!!! No stats in college for this girl!

My Stats teacher, Mrs. Storrs, was absolutely amazing! She is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. She got to know each of the students, and showed that she truely cared about each one of us. She always let you know when she was proud of you, and if you were struggling in her class she sould do all that she could to help you out.

 A funny little tradition that she has is that everytime you get an A on a test or final, she would give you a scratch-and-sniff sticker. According to Mrs. Storrs, they were like the reward decals or pride stickers that football players have on their helmets to show their accomplishments. So whenever any of us students got a scratch-and-sniff we would stick them on our binders to show off our good test scores. haha. So at graduation she stuck a scratch-and-sniff to the bottom of our caps, and when we found out I passed the AP Stats test, she send me a letter to say congrats, and it had a scratch-and-sniff sticker on it. :) I'm gonna miss her so bad!

7~I went up to Grandma Wilkey's cabin with my best friend and my parents! I can only slightly remember going there once before, with grandma, so it was an adventure. :)

We went to Smith and Morehouse Resivour, walked along the whole dam, and saw the spillway. Personally I wanted to ride sown the spillway on a tube... looked fun... ;)

We could see the whole rainbow, but I couldn't get a good picture of the whole thing.

At night it started raining again, so we turned out all the lights in the cabin and watched the lightning! So cool!
