pinterest addiction continues.

Hello, my name is Leslie and I'm addicted to Pinterest. ;)

Since I'm home now, and I have access to a sewing machine, my crafty options have expanded.. a lot. :)

My newest creations involve ties for my nephews, dresses for my nieces, and a skirt for me.

The tie pattern from this website makes the biggest of the ties. That will work for my oldest nephew, but I wanted ties for a 5 month and a 1 month old, so I had to figure out a way to shrink the pattern.  If you want a different size, when you go to print the pattern, click 'print', 'properties', 'effects', and select '% of actual size' here you can just experiment to see what % works for the size you need. (I did this same thing to make the smallest dress, because the website only has sizes 18 mo to 5T.)

All three dresses are the same pattern, but with a little variation on each one.  The pattern actually has a sash that goes around it, but I decided I wanted to do flowers instead.

I decided I wanted to make me a skirt, so I went to Pinterest, and found out how to. :)
The pattern is for a hopscotch skirt, but I just wanted my stripes to be the same all the way across, so I skipped that step.  I was short on fabric, since I was just using what we had at home, so instead of doing it all the same like they did, I did the solid waist band, and I added a few inches to the bottom to make it the right length.

When I tied my bow it went really crooked... but I decided I like it that way, so it's staying. :)

My next projects are going to be

an ASL clock for me

and ToeBlooms to match the smallest dress :)

I can't find a tutorial for the ASL clock ANYwhere so I'm making it up as I go. :)
I shaped all the numbers out of play dough, and baked them in the oven. The cracks expanded a little when I baked them, so to help make them stronger, I'm either going to  paint them different colors or just paint(or spray) them with a clear coating. :)
