Brother Krebs.

My institute teacher is the best. I used to be in a different class, but I didn't like the teacher at all, so I switched, and I'm so glad I did. I'm now in a D&C class. My teacher, Bro. Krebs, is amazing. He brings the spirit to the class everyday, but he also makes the lessons really fun. He is full of funny stories, and awesome one-liners. Here's a few. :)

*Talking to a student who wasn't in institute*
Krebs: "You should take institute."
Girl: "I know.."
Krebs: "You're husband's there."
Girl: "Um.. I'm not married.."
Krebs: "Exactly!"

*Talking to a guy in class*
Krebs: "What's a must-have quality in girls you date?"
Guy: *Showing his wedding ring* "I've already got my eternal date."

*Talking about qualities of priesthood holders in section 121*
"Men if you want the priesthood, be a woman!"

*Random things he's said in class*
"Behind every great guy, there's a suprise mother-in-law."

"I'm an open book, it's just the cover that's ugly."

"If you ever want to feel better about yourself, just watch youtube."

"It's okay to look stupid, because someone else will always make you look great."

"Life's a crap-sandwhich, and each day's another bite."

"Look in the scriptures, God never destroys a city with righteous people in it... California better be grateful for the LDS people there..."

"I always thought Noah must've been a crappy missionary. He preached for years, and God drowned all his investigators."

"Either a talk from a prophet or a football game will humble a BYU student."

"The Second Coming is Wednesday.... I mean the lesson!"

*Just a few things I really love that I've gotten from his class.*

-Happiness is just as much fun to remember as it is to do.

-The gospel is beautifly simple, and simply beautiful.

-You don't need to "eat" all of the atonment, you only need a little taste. Christ suffered through the atonment so we don't have to.

-"Take up your cross" means deny yourself of all ungodliness, and every worldly lust, and keep his commandments. (Matt 16:25-26)

-"Elect" means to be elected to a certain work. (D&C 25)

-Everytime Christ has come to the Earth, he has had the sacrement with someone.

-Satan changed his tactics, he can't stop temples from being built, but he can stop people form going to them.

-The closer the Second Coming gets, the more calm the saints will be.

-"The end of the world is the end of unrightousness or of worldliness as we know it." -Bruce R. McConkie

-God gave us the spirit of faith, not fear.

I know this was kind of a different post, but I just felt like I needed to share it. I am so grateful for institute, it means the world to me. I know this church is true. God lives. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet, through him we can learn what God would have us do. I know Christ suffered for me; I can repent and live with him again. I know when I do what I am supossed to, my life is so much calmer. The gospel is peace. The gospel is truth. I know this and believe it with all my heart.

Hello

such a simple word, but it can mean so much.

So I decided only having one roommate reallly stinks. Everyone is always hanging out with their 4-6 roommates, and most people aren't super willing to let you join their group to hangout with.

Church was good today, my bishop is really fun.
The best quote of the day came from when Bishop Cannon was conducting. He couldn't remember the name of the opening hymn. "...And we will be singing hymn 136, which is... *pause* ...in the hymn book!" haha got a good laugh from all of us:)

We had ward prayer in the lounge right beneath my building :) It was super crowded, stuffy and hot, but it's always cool to have a kneeling prayer with that big of a group.

The guys in E3 had Sunday Sundaes today and everyone was invited to go. They had waffle bowls, ice cream, and caramel & chocolate syrup! yummm.

I start classes tomorrow! So excited!!

catch up

Here's a little of what's been going on in my life recently. :)

1~I went to my senior prom with a friend, Collin Anderson. It was a blast!

My amazing mother made my dress! Thanks mom I LOVE it!

Me & Collin, Mike & Kayla

2~I Graduated High School!! whooooooot!

Me and some of my best friends right before graduation.

Last time I got to sing with my Choir that I've been with for 2 years.
We sang "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban.

:)

Congrats Cyprus High School Class of 2011!

3~I'm officially part of Relief Society now... and I'm already a visiting teacher, and guess who my partner is?? The Relief Society President. hmmm..

4~I went to Girl's Camp as a youth leader, I'm going to miss the young women in my ward, but it's definetly time to move on.

5~I registered for college and signed up for all of my classes! I'm taking English 1010, Biology 1010, Comd 2910 (ASL 1), FCHD 1500, and Ballroom Dance. I am super excited!

6~I found out that I passed my AP Statistics test with a 4!!! YAYAYAY!!! No stats in college for this girl!

My Stats teacher, Mrs. Storrs, was absolutely amazing! She is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. She got to know each of the students, and showed that she truely cared about each one of us. She always let you know when she was proud of you, and if you were struggling in her class she sould do all that she could to help you out.
A funny little tradition that she has is that everytime you get an A on a test or final, she would give you a scratch-and-sniff sticker. According to Mrs. Storrs, they were like the reward decals or pride stickers that football players have on their helmets to show their accomplishments. So whenever any of us students got a scratch-and-sniff we would stick them on our binders to show off our good test scores. haha. So at graduation she stuck a scratch-and-sniff to the bottom of our caps, and when we found out I passed the AP Stats test, she send me a letter to say congrats, and it had a scratch-and-sniff sticker on it. :) I'm gonna miss her so bad!

7~I went up to Grandma Wilkey's cabin with my best friend and my parents! I can only slightly remember going there once before, with grandma, so it was an adventure. :)
We went to Smith and Morehouse Resivour, walked along the whole dam, and saw the spillway. Personally I wanted to ride sown the spillway on a tube... looked fun... ;)

Katherine and me at Smith and Morehouse Resivour

Got some really need leaf pictures after it rained.

we were knee deep in the water taking splash pictures. :)

saw an awesome double rainbow!
you can see in this picture the rainbow was on our side of the mountain!
We could see the whole rainbow, but I couldn't get a good picture of the whole thing.
At night it started raining again, so we turned out all the lights in the cabin and watched the lightning! So cool!

Sooo now that you're sort of caught up lets hope I can keep this blog up to date... no promises though. :)
